THANKS

to everybody who helped me with the tailor\seamstress and runway\catwalk issues!
You have been very helpful.
I believe there are many people curious about foreign cultures in this community. So please could you recommend me an English or Spanish-language community where the crosscultural aspects are discussed? Sort of "is there a word for "privacy" in Russian", as well as "Do Native Americans celebrate Thankgiving, too?" or "Are eggplant sandwiches considered yucky?". These are the problems I must resolve for myself every day as I'm a profesional translator.
For my part, to those of you who are advanced learners of Russian or hope to get to this level I could recommend two wonderful Russian-language communities. One is
http://www.livejournal.com/community/ru_pro_slova/ (about REALLY NEW OR INVENTED ON THE SPOT WORDS; please don't use them in front of your Russian professor, she'll get perplexed at best)
and the other is http://www.livejournal.com/community/hrenovina/ (about profesional terms; it is used by many translators). But take care: some people just post funny answers for serious questions, so please don't believe everything that you read.
